At first i thought there was no way it was a sound card problem b/c if it was the sound card, neither the headphones or internal speakers would work... There may be at least 2 packages needing removal. The mic portion, however, keeps on muting, even though I turn it back on each time.

When I unplug the headphones, the internal speakers do not come back on. I have installed the latest version of Audicity and just now installed the latest version of Realtek and it does the same thing. no luck.
