It would only keep going if i went into safe mode, but still showed the 8 screens. Same issue for the ccfl connector but this should not be so much of an issue. Replaced the screen of Dell Vostro 1500, which was cracked while travelling. Try reinstalling the display driver is Safe Mode. On the display bezel you'll find six screw seals. Can you see the boot window or the windows loading screen.

Here's what I would try: 1. perhaps you can try to connect an extern monitor. If your new screen comes with the inverter than it's easier to replace both. weblink I did hook up an external monitor and the computer starts up fine.
