Norton was very responsive to my issue. Recently, the 'automatic' updates have frequently not installed correctly, and I could get it working only by removing and reinstalling the whole suite. don't open attachments unless you are expecting to receive a file from someone, don't click on random links, read what you're about to click on before you click on it, etc..
