after restarting dell audio feature is missing in control panel. Please refer to our CNET Forums policies for details. It matters WHAT ORDER you install your drivers. The only change with my problem is that it wasn't the modem that I had to uninstall. Let us mess with our computers a little! Then rebooted and, as you reported jflynn33,Vista reinstalled both drivers and the sound and modem work. I'm inclined to agree with the comment above me that you just need drivers.
Anyway, when I got everything back up almost nothing worked... The system automatic downloaded the driver for sigmatel HD Audio. Then I lowered further to 10%, the sound was clear. When i removed the headset, plugged into jack again, there was sound static frequency like ssssssss....... i tried that link and installed the sigmatel driver and it didn't help?
